Participants will get an overview of breast health, screening guidelines, possible symptoms, and then breast cancer statistics, risk and protective factors, types of different breast cancers, staging, and health inequities, with attention to current trends affecting younger women, rural communities, and communities of color. The course emphasizes the role of trusted CHWs\/THWs in supporting people through screening, diagnosis, treatment, and metastatic breast cancer; highlighting culturally responsive and patient-centered approaches that CHWs can take to support individuals and families.
